I can't believe Easter is in less than a week - time goes by way too fast! Painting eggs is one of the most popular Easter traditions in Poland. When I went home for Christmas, I took some pictures of eggs that have been in our family ever since I can remember.
Nature themes are really popular, whether it's more realistic or stylized.
I like how tactile the above egg is.
Those two have always been some of my favorite.
All the eggs have been hand-painted; not by me unfortunately. I've made some attempts when I was younger, but none of them would be blog worthy.
There are other techniques you can decorate eggs with: dying with plants or vegetables; covering with yarn to create a colorful pattern; or scratching the surface of the egg to reveal the shell. You can read about some of those techniques here.
