I've been on a home improvement rampage as of late, finishing up small (and large) projects and just trying to get the place completely put together. Last night, I turned my attention to the basement and FINALLY finished the last little edge of the wall that I wallpapered with ferm LIVING's Family Tree months ago. I also took all the covers off our sectional sofa and washed them. My family was looking at me like I was insane, but the couch now looks and smells brand new.
Since we moved in almost a year and a half ago, the downstairs fireplace has been a conundrum. I think it's pretty ugly, but I couldn't bring myself to paint it. Until now. Christiana talked me through it and suggested that we do the stone portion in a dark gray, and then the wood mantle in the same white as the trim.
And she was also sweet enough to send me some photos for inspiration. After seeing these, I was sold. Tomorrow I'll prime it and then hopefully it will be painted and gorgeous by the weekend.
The final touch will be mounting Bucky above the mantle :)
