I came across this print by Gennine today and it made me a little sad because summer is almost at an end. We had oddly cool weather most of the summer, so my boys didn't get much time at the beach and pool or running through the sprinkler.
My mother took this picture of my older son a couple summers ago and it is one of my very favorites. It evokes the excitement of something as simple as a sprinkler and a hot day. It's also one of those photos where the personality of the subject is captured so exactly - the look on his face and the joyfulness of his posture is just SO him.
We're getting ready for the boys to go back to school now, but I hope that we have a nice Indian summer so that we can enjoy a few more evenings at the beach nearby and a couple Saturday and Sunday afternoons' worth of running through the sprinkler...

I think that it was 3 years ago, if you can believe it! The good thing about MJ is that he gets bigger but his face never changes. He still looks exactly like he did at a year old...

LOVE this picture! But, how long ago was this? I don't want to picture him an older :(
